About Tim Shields

Tim Shields is a master photographer in fine art, landscape photography coach and eCommerce entrepreneur from White Rock, British Columbia, Canada.

Tim's passion for photography began at an early age.  He bought his first DSLR film camera at age 13 and began shooting action photos and developing film in a home made darkroom.  His photography evolved into landscape photos because it connected with his love for  hiking, skiing and camping in the mountains.   His photography style specializes in landscape, travel and outdoors.

Tim's journey through the complicated process of mastering photography has not been an easy one.  He is self taught, but has been guided and motivated through the learning process by many outstanding photographers.  Tim understands that photography takes life long learning, and he teaches and instructs in landscape photography and post processing using Lightroom and Photoshop.

Landscape photography has taken Tim to far away locations around the world in pursuit of the perfect lighting at carefully chosen locations such as the desolate sand dunes of the Middle East, the baking rock of Death Valley, remote rice fields of China, the mystical pyramids of Egypt, and soaring rocky peaks in the Yukon.  Tim's philosophy is that the more remote the destination, the better the experience will be.  Travel and photography go hand in hand, and Tim is never without his camera gear while traveling.

Tim specializes in creating ultra high resolution panorama photos suitable for printing in very large formats of eight feet wide and beyond.  He has won nine photographic distinctions in the Epson International Pano Awards.

Aside from photography, Tim is a successful online marketer and co founder of a clothing line.  He loves the outdoors and believes that landscape photography can actually help to enhance your life through travel, adventure, creativity, planning for the future, and looking for the light...in everything.
